金絲楠木遭天雷擊中後所取之木，是雷擊木中最為珍稀品種。
2013年，貴州銅仁一棵樹齡四千三百年的金絲楠古木遭雷擊火燒，殘存木料估值逾千萬元，轟動一時。
道家奉雷擊木被為「製作法器的第一聖木」，具有先天鎮煞避邪之功效。民間相傳，對鬼魅邪祟極具震懾力，故被視為最有力度的辟邪法物。民間亦有將雷擊木佩戴於孩童手腕，以保其免受驚嚇、平安成長的傳統。
雷擊金絲楠能鎮宅護身、驅邪擋煞、其純陽之氣可補充人體陽氣、驅除陰邪。手串尤其適合經常出入陌生場所、希望增強自身氣場者的護身之物。

This rarest thunderstruck wood comes from nanmu trees hit by lightning. In 2013, a 4,300-year-old tree in Guizhou was struck, leaving timber valued over ten million yuan.
Daoist texts revere it as "the foremost sacred wood for ritual tools," with innate power to ward off evil. Folk tradition says it terrifies evil spirits, making it the most powerful protective talisman. Children wear it to prevent fright.
